Smart Plug

Smart plug make it easy to automate and control small appliances and devices (Ex., Coffee Maker, Christmas Tree, etc.) in your home, and because, they are low cost, they become an excellent way for you to begin turning you home in a smart home.

Smart plugs are one of the most affordable and easiest to use smart home devices. They allow you to turn almost any wired appliance with an on/off switch in your home into an automated one that can be controlled by a simple tap on your phone or voice command.

To set it up, all you have to do is plug it into an outlet and then connect it to your Wi-Fi network by following the directions in the compatible app on your phone or tablet. Then, you simply plug a wired appliance, like a lamp or a fan, into your smart plug and you'll now be able to control them on your phone from wherever you are.

Let's see the available options for this quarter (Q4 2021).

Smart Safety

The Internet of Things (IoT) is changing the way we live by connecting the devices we use. Now, any device, from your WIFI and TV to your heating, door locks and lighting, can be connected to a single controller through the internet, giving you total control of your home,

A smart house, has many safety components a homeowner can utilize. Many homes with smart technology have sensors that detect gas and water leaks.

There are also sensors for smoke and other abnormal conditions. When a problem is detected, the smart house automatically shuts off the component relating to the problem.

While smart devices allow families to save a little extra time, energy and even a few extra dollars at homes, some are safer than others.

Smart Irrigation

Water is our most precious resource. A smart irrigation system can help ensure your lawn and garden get enough moisture to be healthy and vibrant without wasting any of it. And of all the smart home subsystems you can invest in, this might be the one that will benefit the least from being incorporated into a hub.

Smart irrigation systems are a combination of an advanced technology of sprinklers with nozzles that improve coverage and irrigation controllers that are watering and water conservation systems that monitor moisture-related conditions on your property and automatically adjust watering to optimal levels.

Smart irrigation technology uses weather data or soil moisture data to determine the irrigation need of the landscape and can also be complex, so using a purpose-built app is usually better anyway.

Let's see the options for this quarter (Q4 2021).

Smart Water Leak

Water leaks have been a serious issue for homeowners to contend with. Water leaks can cause severe damage to the structure of your home, and it can do it without being noticed for months. In the worst-case scenario, a leak can degrade the structural integrity of a home silently, lead to the development of dangerous mold and more.

A smart water sensor detects water leaks early and gives you a real chance to react fast, avoiding costly and disruptive water damage or a full-scale flood sending alerts to your phone, even when you're away from home.

Let's see the options for this quarter (Q4 2021).

Conventional smoke and gas detectors are inherently dumb devices. Their alarms might be loud, but if no one’s home to hear them, what good do they accomplish?

Dangerous gas leaks like carbon monoxide are invisible and undetectable to our senses and to ordinary devices like a smoke alarm. They’re also colorless and odorless, and can cause symptoms such as memory loss, shortness of breath, even death in the most extreme cases.

Most smart smoke, gas leak detectors are primarily designed to detect combustible gases or toxic gas and react by displaying a reading, setting off an audible or visual alarm and/or sending an alert to your smartphone - if danger is detected.

They work in different ways, depending on the gas they are targeted toward, and the device should be used exactly as the manufacturer describes.

The manufacturers are very specific about which gas or gases their detector will sense. Below, are some of the common gases you'll have to pay attention.

  • Combustible Gases. Natural gas mostly comprising methane and propane have an additive called mercaptan that smells like rotten eggs.
  • Toxic Gases like Carbon Monoxide. Exposure to high levels of colorless odorless carbon monoxide (CO) from a leaking appliance or a vehicle running in an attached garage is harmful, and can be fatal.
  • Radon. While a concentration in your basement or crawl space may not cause your home to explode the way propane or natural gas can, it’s radioactive and is the second leading cause of lung cancer.

Smart Lighting
A smart house is equipped with monitors used to control many features in the home including the lighting. With many smart houses, people are able to use and adjust these features from a remote Internet connection. For most people interested in living in a smart home, lighting is the entry point.

The lighting may be adjusted from a keypad within the home or checked from a remote location. The connection tells the homeowner what lights are on. The homeowner then turns lights on and off as desired. Smart technology also works to save homeowners money. A smart house can be set to automatically turn lights down to where they are using only 50% or 75% of the power they are capable of instead of 100%. This helps save money and extend the life of the bulbs.

Smart LED bulbs contain software that connects to an app, smart home assistant, or other smart accessory so you can automate your lights or control them remotely. Many smart lighting systems work perfectly well without a central hub and are still capable of interacting with other smart home elements.

Smart lighting, gives you by far more control over your lights. They are still connected to your home's power, but each smart bulb and LED-integrated fixture allows you to control it wirelessly with your phone, tablet, or smart assistant, such as Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

Smart Lighting Switches

No smart lighting solution is as elegant as having smart light switches and dimmers embedded in your walls. The best smart light switches will give you extensive control over your lighting, being capable of much more than just switching them on and off!.

When you press buttons on smart light switches, they send wireless signals to control your smart lights (typically via WIFI, Bluetooth, Zigbee or Z-Wave). Smart light switches can turn lights on and off, adjust brightness or cycle through your presets (often called scenes) with your preferred color and brightness combinations.

Being linked to the cloud, you can control your smart light switch from your phone. This means you can remotely schedule when your lights switch on and off, useful for when you’re taking a holiday. You can also control them with a voice assistant, so no switches are even necessary! However, with so many options, choosing the best smart light switch can be intimidating.

Let's see the available options for this quarter (Q4 2021).

Portable lamps are lights (or lamps) that can be picked up, moved and plugged in wherever there is an electrical outlet. Floor lamps, Torchieres and Table lamps are considered portable lamp.

Many of them are designed to do more than lighting up a room. They can serve as replacements for alarms, help with home security, and even make you feel better.

Smart lamps are an great way to harness the power of voice assistants like Alexa, Google Home, and other voice assistants to control and customize the lighting in your home. You can choose multiple bulb colors, set schedules and scene options, and even adjust lighting on the go.

Smart Lighting Panels strike the perfect balance between form and function by transforming any room in your home on command by installing these amazing color changing light panels.

Create a visually captivating light show in any room of your home using these color changing led panels can be arranged in any shape or style that you want and are programmable to change to the beat of the music.

They’re sound reactive, voice reactive, can be interactively controlled by hovering your hand, and are fully modular so you can arrange them in any form that you want.

Smart lighting panels give you the ability to create the smart light display of your dreams on your wall, provide rich colors and smart capabilities, all in a form factor that allows you to create custom works of art.

Several options are available, so we have gathered the best HomeKit light panels around to help you decide which is right for your space.

Smart Light Strips

Smart light strips can transform the look of your home bringing illumination and color to dim spots, like under kitchen cabinets.

They are designed to be concealed under cabinets or shelves, and behind TVs or panels, so that you only see the light they emit, they also work as night lights or as mood lights.

The latest smart light strips can integrate with your smart home, enabling you to schedule or automate different kinds of lighting, select new lighting scenes from your phone, and use voice assistants like Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant to change your lighting.

One of the first ways to start in the smart house world, how it works, and how easy and convenient it is to control devices is through smart lighting, in particular, opting for a starter kit that includes multiple bulbs.

In general, a smart lighting kit has everything you need to get started with smart lighting in your home, and it's ready to use straight out of the box.

Some kits come with a hub or bridge if it's required for smart connectivity, while others even throw in additional accessories that can function as part of your smart lighting system.

Smart Fans operate via WIFI or Bluetooth. This means you can remotely control and program them to operate within a given setting and schedule even while you are away from home from your iOS or Android device.

Fan manufacturers are also incorporating cutting edge technologies to make sure climate control in your house is as simple as asking your virtual assistants. Alternatively, you can find models in the market that come with independent voice activation controls to recognize your command and turn on the fan.

Smart ceiling fans operate like your regular ceiling fan, only that they know when to spin and when to keep the air still. This means that you can program a preset temperature for it to adjust to, or a schedule within which the ceiling fan should operate.

For people who prefer their older ceiling fans there are a few devices that let you convert your existing fans to a smart fan either by hardwiring a small device inside your fan, using a hub and your existing motorized blind IR remote control (See Bond Hub for an example), or replacing your dedicated wall switch with a Z-Wave or Zigbee version that connects and controls your fan.

Smart Bulbs
A smart bulb is an internet-capable LED light bulb that allows lighting to be customized, scheduled and controlled remotely.
Smart bulbs are among the most immediately successful offerings in the growing category of home automation and Internet of Things (IoT) products.

These are different from regular bulbs as you can eliminate the need to control them manually. With a smart bulb, you can control it using a remote or through a mobile device. If the bulb is dimmable, you can also control the brightness with ease and without lifting anything more than a finger.

Smart bulbs give you the freedom to control the light and atmosphere in each room, transforming your home into a more ideal environment to live, work, and relax in.

All smart bulbs have wireless technology, but some of them differ in terms of exactly what automation protocol they use. Some smart bulbs use Wi-Fi, others use Bluetooth connections. And some bulbs even give you the option of using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, depending on your preference.

If most of your home’s lighting is in the ceiling and controlled by a switch on the wall, you might be better served by replacing those dumb switches with smart switches and dimmers, instead. That’s because a smart bulb becomes dumb the instant you turn off the switch controlling it.

There are three types of communication technologies used by smart bulbs:

  • Bluetooth: These bulbs skip your home network altogether and pair directly with your smartphone or tablet. As such, they can’t be controlled from outside your home.
  • Wi-Fi: This class of bulb talks directly to your Wi-Fi router, no hub or bridge required.
  • Zigbee: Bulbs that use the popular smart-home networking protocol require a bridge to communicate with your home Wi-Fi network.

Each of these technologies has pros and cons, so before you attempt to settle on a specific bulb, first try to determine which tech is right for you.

Smart Climate

Nowadays, people are concerned about energy management and the latest trend in this direction is automated climate control.

Smart Climate is the integration of devices that provide comfortable weather in the house, in the complex of logical control of the home. The ability to change the home temperature from a remote location is one of the element that a smart house has to offer.

This feature give you the possibility to independently manage the creation, maintenance, and management of an individual microclimate for each area of the home.

Through smart house technology, the system is set up to heat and cool the home in the most efficient manner. It runs at times where electric rates are the lowest and adjusts the house temperature based on whether people are home or not.

These capabilities are oriented and often result in lower electric and gas bills. Multiple devices have been designed to meet the climate control needs in homes.

Let’s go through the world of home climate.

Smart Thermostats
If you're guilty of rushing out of your house and forgetting to adjust your thermostat on a regular basis, smart technology might just be the ticket. Few smart home devices can match a smart thermostat’s ability to deliver both comfort and cost/energy savings.

These devices go far beyond establishing a heating and cooling schedule based on when you anticipate being home to enjoy those benefits. They can detect when you’re home and when you’re away, so that your HVAC system operates only when it’s needed.

The latest trend on this front is to equip thermostats with sensors that you can put in the rooms you occupy most frequently, so that the thermostat operates on the basis of where you are in the house, instead of triggering heating and cooling cycles based on the thermostat’s location, which is typically in a hallway you only ever pass through.

Let's see some of the Smart Thermostats options available in the market today.

Smart Home Features
In a smart home, the main objective is to control many common features within the home using the available technology in order to increase aspects like comfort, security, energy efficiency and more.

This features make our homes more convenient, more livable, and can also add a great value to our home.

Today, there are so many different technologies, brands and smart devices available that provide different benefits for our homes and our families.
